Dice of Life

Hello interweb land my name is Roberto and I love gaming! If there is a ruleset involved I would probably like to give it a whirl at least once. I love videogames but my true passion comes from tabletop gaming. Be it boardgames, roleplaying games, or miniature wargames I pretty much love em all. Now what does this have to do with blogging? Well I think I have a pretty good collection of games and wanted to have a place to review them and show off anything cool that I have picked up past or present. If your interested then drop me a line with questions and comments.

First off ive been gaming for a long time! For videogames my earliest memories come from playing Super Mario, TMNT and NES Pro Wrestling at my cousins houses respectively. For boardgames it had to be Mouse Trap and TSRs Dungeon and what times I had with those games! The next couple of years I played some board games that I didn't know where geeky at the time but I loved em anyway! In Junior High I was introduced to the tag team champions of Dungeons and Dragons and Magic the Gathering. That was pretty much game over for me and full on nerdhood was knighted.  All of this pretty much molded me into this....

Dungeons WIP: Garden of Morr

Danger danger work in progress.....

Garden of Morr:

My birthday was back in September and my future brother in law decided to get me one of the best things you can get a guy who turned the big 30... a project!

When it comes to my boardgaming and wargaming addictions if you're like me you can never have too many projects lined up. I always like to have some miniatures lined up for painting consumption on my Saturday mornings. Be it board games or my personal favorite new army components I always like to have a little something to work on. Now I've been bad recently and spent a few extra Xmas bonus bucks on buffing up my Warmachine/Hordes armies but I'll get to them when they are queued up for the brush. For now I'll show you where the last month of my life went.

Dice of Life/Review:Champions of the Galaxy

Today I want to talk about an oddity, a real gem in the world of tabletop gaming, and probably my favorite game of all time but first indulge me a bit. Im talking about Champions of the Galaxy. If you were a kid that grew up in the 80's like myself there is a strong chance that you have fond memories of those eras pro wrestling. I’m talking the WWF! Hulk Hogan, Macho Man Randy Savage, Ricky the Dragon Steamboat, The Million Dollar Man Ted Dibiase, Andre the Giant, Jake the Snake, Rowdy Roddy Piper, Demolition, and more bigger than life characters then any circus could handle. It was so over the top and fun it was like watching a live action cartoon. To me as a kid watching Saturday Nights Main Event was almost equivalent to a holiday. It was the zaniness of these real life super heroes and villains that made me follow pro wrestling well into my adulthood. Today I still enjoy wrestling for the silliness and spectacle that it has always had but some of the magic is gone. I could talk pro wrestling for days about the past and present due to knowing more about the sport than any sane person should but that’s not what I wanted to talk about really.

Dungeon Delve: Descent: Journeys into Darkness Review

Descent and me go back a few years.  Descent is a whopper of a game to try and take on from any angle but what kind of Dungeonslinger would I be if I didn't take a shot at it? Now for those of you who are not complete board game nerds Descent is a fantasy board game that simulates the dungeon crawling you would normally find in roleplaying games such as Dungeons and Dragons but minus all of the roleplaying. For people that know me they would think that this would be an instant buy for someone like me. This was not entirely true. I remember the first time I seen a copy of Descent on a game store shelf it was at the now defunct Gamers Paradise.
